The World Trade Center Miami is delighted to announce that the Secretaries of the Treasury and Homeland Security have named Lenny Feldman to a two-year term as a member of the federal Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (commonly referred to as COAC). COAC is a 20 member committee that advises the departments of Homeland Security, Treasury and numerous agencies on matters related to import enforcement and procedures, export controls, automation of federal agency operations, product safety, the role of customs brokers and supply chain security issues, including development of the C-TPAT and Trusted Trader Programs.
Feldman currently serves as the Chairman of the World Trade Center Miami, which is dedicated to increasing two-way trade in the Western Hemisphere and promoting Miami as the “Trade and Logistics Capital of the Americas”. It is a member of the World Trade Centers Association which has over 331 Centers is 92 countries. Over the past twenty years, the Center has generated more than $3.8 billion in actual and anticipated international sales.
These two leadership positions reflect Feldman’s long involvement nationally on international trade and business issues. Currently, he also serves as legal counsel to the Florida Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Assoc., and was appointed by the Secretary of Commerce to the Florida U.S. District Export Council.
Lenny serves as a member of the Operating Committee and Managing Member of the Miami Office of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., one of the leading international trade and customs law firms in the U.S. Also, ST&R and its affiliates comprise one of the largest customs and international trade service providers in the world. Before joining ST&R, Feldman was a senior attorney with the U.S. Customs Service.
