Orlando Main Streets Announces “Main Streets Restaurant Week 2017”

(ORLANDO, FL) – To showcase Orlando’s burgeoning local culinary scene and celebrate the eclectic and creative cuisine that can only be found in Orlando’s local neighborhood districts, the Orlando Main Streets program is hosting its third annual Main Streets Restaurant Week, beginning Friday, August 4 and running through Saturday, August 12. Restaurants from nine of Orlando’s unique Main Street districts will offer prix fixe lunch and dinner menus featuring local favorites, specialty items and food and beverage pairings at an exceptional price.

“I encourage residents and visitors in Central Florida to come and explore our City’s Main Street districts, and discover not only great food, but great shopping, great services and the great people that call these neighborhoods home,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

To drive traffic to local restaurants and encourage residents to dine out in one of the Main Street districts, each participating restaurant will offer an alternative Main Streets Restaurant Week menu in conjunction with their everyday menu. The Restaurant Week menu will only be offered during the one-week period and will feature a limited selection of $5, $10, $20, or $30 dishes, with prices dependent on the restaurant and time of day.

“We started this event three years ago because early August is typically a slower time for our restaurant community,” said Orlando Main Streets Administrator Pauline Eaton, noting that Restaurant Week gives local restaurateurs a way to remind their neighbors of amazing dining opportunities that are just around the corner.
